How to find your transaction ID

Every crypto transfer gets a transaction ID, also called a transaction hash or TxID. The FBI says transaction details are the most important information you can give. Here's where to find it.

What it looks like

Never share your recovery phrase or private key with anyone, including anyone who says they're helping you report or recover funds.

Where to find it

  1. 1

    In an exchange app

Open your transaction history and select the transfer you sent. Look for Transaction hash, Transaction ID, TxID or a View on block explorer link.

  2. 2

    In MetaMask

Open the Activity tab and select the transaction. Copy it with the icon next to Transaction ID. View on block explorer shows the full record.

  3. 3

    In other wallets

Open Activity or History, select the transaction, and choose View on explorer. The ID is at the top of the explorer page.

  4. 4

    From a crypto ATM

Check your receipt for a transaction ID or a link. If it isn't there, contact the kiosk operator's support through its official website.

If you can't find one

Paste your transaction IDs into the report form and each one is linked to its public record, so whoever reads your report can check it.
